Ten outstanding AV freelancers have named as winners of the inaugural AV Freelancer Awards, organised by JacobsMassey.

The winners were announced at a gala presentation ceremony at the Congress Centre, London on Friday last week.

Supporting the awards were headline sponsor IET Venues and IET.tv and category sponsors AV Magazine, AVIXA, the AV Cultural Forum, Frameset UK, Media Powerhouse, Quay Income Solutions and Congress Centre itself.

Launching the awards, Graeme Massey, managing director of JacobsMassey, said AV freelancers often missed out on recognition because they are not associated with one provider. But the AV Freelancer Awards would now provide a platform and a voice for them.

He added: “AV freelancers contribute enormously to the success of the user experience. In many cases, without their support and skill set, even with the most advanced technology, projects and events quite simply would not be able to be delivered.”
